Architects Without Borders and University of Manitoba Faculty of Architecture students and graduates worked with Art City, a non profit community art centre, to deliver design related activities for all ages in the West Broadway community. The purpose of the design activities was to introduce participants to various aspects of design such as social responsibility, sustainability, and context specific solutions through play. Participants were asked to explore the built environment at different scales, ranging from everyday objects to communities. Cross-disciplinary concepts of design were used to develop fun, creative, imaginative and responsive solutions to each of the workshop’s design problems. Learn more about the project here
